How to Use Content Width
What You’ll Learn
You’ll learn how to use the Content Width tool in Morweb to control the width of page content for a cleaner, more structured layout.
Why It Matters
Content widths help keep your pages looking neat and easy to read. They’re especially useful in full-width sections where you want content (like text or images) to stay within a readable area. Using content widths ensures your site looks professional across all screen sizes.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Go to Your Page
https://siteurl.com/site/pages/content
- Hover over the top navigation menu.
- Click Pages > Content to open the Page Manager.
- Click on the page name to open the visual editor.
2. Open the Widget Panel
On the front end of your site, look for the Widget Panel.
3. Select the Layout Section
- In the Widget Panel, click the Layout section.
- This reveals tools for adjusting the layout, including the Content Width tool.
4. Add a Content Width Sub-template
- From the layout widgets, drag Subtemplate into your page.
- This subtemplate allows you to define a specific width for content in that section.
5. Adjust the Content Width Settings
- After placing the Subtemplate, click on it to open its Options tab.
- In the Width dropdown, select your preferred width. Options range from 480px to 1240px. The default is 670px, which is ideal for most text blocks.
- Choose a Position:
- Center (default): centers content within the section
- Left or Right: aligns content to one side
6. Add Content Inside the Width Container
Within the set width area, you can drag and drop:
- Text blocks
- Images
- Buttons
- Columns
- Any other widget templates
Troubleshooting Tips
- Content is stretching too wide
Check that your Subtemplate is active and properly placed. Make sure a fixed width is selected from the dropdown.
- Content isn’t centered
In the Options tab, ensure the Position is set to Center.
- Content disappears after dragging
Make sure you're dropping your content inside the Subtemplate, not outside it.
